ABOUT SARAH

WHAT DRIVES ME

English is a global language. If you can speak it well, you have more chance of doing well. I think everyone deserves a chance.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

I am a fully-qualified Modern Languages teacher. I used to teach French and German in British schools.
One day, one of my pupils asked me why the German he was learning at school was different from the German he had heard in Germany.
I couldn’t give him any other reason except that the books we were using were not very good. I made it my aim in life to offer a better way to learn language.

WHAT IS CUP OF ENGLISH?

I moved to The Netherlands in 1998 and taught myself Dutch. (It took me 2 years.) A friend of mine asked me to teach her Dutch, so I worked out what the most important parts of the language were, so that I could teach her proper Dutch – the way the Dutch speak it.
I developed a system for learning language – any western European language – and then applied it to English.
This is the Cup of English system: colourful and logical.
